DUESTERNBROOK GUESTFARM

is the first and oldest guest farm in Namibia (since 1962). It is situated 18 km off the B1 before you reach Okahandja on the your way to Etosha or the coast. The old farmhouse 1909 and its outbuildings are lovely renovated and build out of natural stone. Enjoy the fantastic view into the surrounding savannah of the privat game park including many wildlife like giraffe, zebra, oryx.. and birds...

All our rooms are individually furnished, partly with antique elements, so each room has its own charm and style. We offer 24hrs 220 V electricity. (no noisy generator at night!!)
The different rooms are located in separate guest houses and are individually furnished. All rooms and luxury safari tents are with bath-en-suite.
The 'best view' guest house (called Felsenhaus), has two double rooms overlooking a very scenic dry riverbed. These two rooms are in our higher price range.
In the middle price range we got a separate double room and finally the colonial house has got one double room and one single room.
In the econo price range we offer two big double safari luxury tents, for those who like to be even closer to nature. These tents, as big as a room are about 30m apart. They are furnished like a room. The bath-en-suite is build out of natural stone.Our food is always a freshly prepared European cuisine with local products.The meals often include local game or farm assured Namibian beef dishes and homemade bread. Depending on the time of the year: in our winter (May to July) dinner is served in the dinning room at the main house with antique furniture and a fireplace, in summer dinner is on the open veranda with a beautiful view over the river bed or in our thatched Lapa (Lapa=local for eating place).
We offer a small selection of good South-African white and red wines, Namibian beer is brewed in German tradition ("Reinheitsgebot") but we also offer different soft-drinks, fruit juices and water.
You will enjoy the individual care and hospitality at Duesternbrook. The family atmosphere make you feel at home and like being part of this wildlife oasis in Namibia.
Our leopards and cheetah on Duesterbrook guestfarm near Windhoek are a big attraction for overnight guests and day visitors alike. Leopards and cheetahs are rarely seen in the wild. After many years of experience, we can offer you this unique opportunity to observe and photograph these big cats: they are a Photographer's Dream.
