12.02.2008 | B 8 Road from Rundu to Ngoma Border Post at Botswana is fine, small pot holes here and there. The Zambezi River is flooded, but is 1.50m below last years recorded time as of today's date. The Zambezi and Okavango and Kwando rivers do not effect the main road B 8 from Rundu to Ngoma Border or the Zambia border in Katima. Some of the gravel roads are in a not tooooooo good condition, but are passable. Should you have any doubts ask the local people before you venture on some of these roads. If you should try to pass over a bridge that is covered with water DO NOT ATTEMPT, The road from Ngoma to Kasane is good through the park, BUT there are a few pot holes, the road from Kasane to Vic Falls is fine. From Kasane to Nata there is 115km of very bad pot holed road, why Botswana Roads authority cannot fill these holes in none of us will know. They have been like this for many years, SO PLEASE WATCH OUT AND DRIVE SLOWLY. At the moment all vehicles coming into Namibia at the NGOMA border gate, you cannot bring Red Raw Meat or Pork, because of the foot and mouth disease. Anything else you can bring in. | Mount Etjo trunoff 2483 from the B1 |
01.03.2008 | The trunoff 2483 from the B1 to Mount Etjo is not passable by two-wheel drive cars and by 4-wheel drive cars driven by people who do not have experience in driving in our conditions. Mount Etjo can be reached from the Kalkfeld side on the 2414 , turning off onto the 2483. The 2483 from the Kalkfeld side to Mount Etjo is in a good condition.
